With the New Year, we set up a new journey to see the results at the end of December. With the new beginning, we try to forget the past and seek a bright future. Therefore, we start the new year with a new desire, wish, promise that we call the New Year’s Resolution.
However, the celebration of New Year has vastly changed over the past decades. The New Revolution has occurred in the New Year’s Resolutions. So, before deciding what your New Year’s resolution is, let us go back into the past.
The History of the New Year’s Resolution:
According to the Statistic Brain research, 45% of Americans make New Year’s resolutions, but only 8% seem to get success to achieve their goals. The practice of making a New Year’s resolution has been around for over 4000 years.
The ancient Babylonians made promises to their gods to be in the good-books of their gods. For instance, if they do not keep their promises, they fear facing the consequences in the coming year. However, if they keep their promise, then they receive good deeds from their gods.
